Celebrated on the 14th of July for many centuries lies Bastille Day, or the name given to French National Day in most English-speaking countries. Now, when I hear about an important holiday, my first thought is… what food should I eat to celebrate? And hopefully, here you’ll find just the answer to that question; wonder no more because here at FoodtoEat we’re prepared to help you create a full day’s guide to office team meals for Bastille Day.
Breakfast: The Most Important Meal of the Day
Start off your Bastille Day honoring not only the French holiday, but also the most important meal of the day! We’re recommending croissants, a buttery, flaky pastry that will be sure to add a bit of a jump start to your morning. These delicious treats can be found in pretty much any french-style bakery, but if you were to ask us, we recommend Petite Abeille. This French and Belgian style restaurant offers a variety of different flavored croissants that are sure to hit the spot!
Lunch: The Middle Meal
Finally, a chance to pause the work day and take a few minutes for yourself, but don’t forget to honor French tradition! For lunch, keep it simple and rather classic with eclairs that are not only sweet, but savory too! At Maison de L’Eclair they’re sure to provide you with the best options for your French inspired lunch. Their menu includes savory eclairs such as Tomato and Mozzarella and ranges all the way to rich, dessert varieties such as Milk Chocolate & Banana and Pistachio. They’ve even included irresistible gluten free options, so everyone is included; whatever you want, they’ve got it!
Dinner: Wrapping the Day Up Right
You’ve done so well honoring the French National Holiday so far, you can’t quit now! Keep it going with a sweet and savory crepe dinner from The Crepes Truck. The best part is, they’ll come to you! Choose from an amazing selection of crepe flavors ranging from The New Yorker with stewed chicken, swiss cheese, tomato, greens & shallots to Le Triomphe with Nutella, sliced strawberries & bananas; you’ll be sure to find something delicious to satisfy your rumbling tummy. We know by now you’re probably all French fooded-out but always remember to save room for dessert!
Dessert: No Matter How Much You Eat During the Day, There’s Always Room for Sweets
Say goodnight to Bastille Day with… you guessed it? Macarons, the delicious French meringue-based confection. This French delicacy is made with egg white, icing sugar, granulated sugar, almond power or ground almond, and food coloring; they taste amazing!
