The theft of a Krispy Kreme donut truck ended in a 15 mile police chase in Dacula, GA on February 7, 2013.
James Freddy Major stole the truck while it was at a gas station dropping off deliveries. Major appeared to be under the influence. Police quickly located the truck and proceeded to chase Major at 70 miles an hour, for 15 miles until he exited the highway, drove the truck into a cul-de-sac, crashed into a mailbox and attempted to flee on foot.
Police K9s soon caught up with Major and placed him under arrest. The donut thief was charged with 3 felonies, 3 misdemeanors, and 7 traffic violations. This was Major’s 11th arrest since 1999.
This is not the first time a Krispy Kreme truck was taken for a joy ride. In 2007, Warren Whitelightning stole a Krispy Kreme truck. Whitelightning had previously had his license revoked after 4 DUIs. Whitelightning had stolen the truck to escape from a convenience store where he stole 8 red-hot pickled sausages. He proceeded to spew donuts all over the road throughout the chase.
